¡¡¡¡Overwatch 2: The bright side of making it 5v5 by Joseph O’Rick App and Gaming News by Charles Osborne Jr. 2 minutes ago Follow @ Tweet Share xPin Comment
¡¡¡¡During my time in isolation, I¡¯ve come to the realization that video games seem to be one of my main forms of escapism, you know? Though I¡¯ve burned through quite a lot of games over the past year (like way more than usual), I keep coming back to Far Cry 5.
¡¡¡¡As you probably already know, Ubisoft¡¯s Far Cry 5 was a major success, selling over 300 million in its first week of release; consequently becoming the fastest-selling game in the franchises¡¯ entire history.
¡¡¡¡Ever since its inception in 2004, the Far Cry franchise has been able to do something very few of its competitors have been able to: stand the test of time.
¡¡¡¡Many of the franchises that were hot in the early 2000s aren¡¯t even a thing anymore and If they are, most are a far cry (obviously, no pun intended) from what they once were.
¡¡¡¡Hell, even my personal favorite first-person shooter Unreal Tournament was put on the back burner due to the sudden rise of Fortnite.
¡¡¡¡But make no mistake, this isn¡¯t me pandering while not looking at the facts to anything. Simply look at the statistics and you¡¯ll see it¡¯s a fact that Far Cry has been one of the most consistent franchises for quite some time now, with sales, awards, and praise to back that claim.
¡¡¡¡The question is, with so many consistent critically acclaimed installments in the franchises¡¯ near 20-year history, what will/can Ubisoft do to ensure Far Cry 6 is better than Far Cry 5?

¡¡¡¡At the end of the day, Far Cry 6 (much like its predecessor) could potentially be another classic, but there is such a thing as a peak, as we all know.
¡¡¡¡It¡¯s a question I¡¯ve asked myself about the GTA franchise, as well. Really, how much is too much of a good thing?
¡¡¡¡Sometimes the pressure assists in helping people push new boundaries, other times the pressure can get the better of a team and they end up fumbling what initially had the potential to be a great game (like Cyberpunk).
¡¡¡¡Everything is still up for debate right now, but come October 7th, that won¡¯t be the case. Until then all we can do is dispute.
